COLCHESTER, VT, September 1, 2021 – Melissa Reyes, Marketing Director for Professional Financial Associates, LLC (PFA) in Colchester, Vermont, has earned the Certified Financial Marketing Professional (CFMP) certification from the American Bankers Association (ABA).

“This achievement confirms Melissa’s experience and depth of knowledge in the financial marketing arena,” said PFA Managing Partner, Timothy Monty. “She continues to be leader in our organization and a valuable asset to team members, industry associates and clients.”


The CFMP certification is awarded to individuals who demonstrate excellence in the field of financial services marketing. To qualify for certification, individuals must have certain levels of experience and education in the financial services marketing profession, pass a 3-hour exam and agree to abide by a code of ethics. The CFMP exam covers many areas including financial principles, laws and regulations, market research, characteristics of marketing plans, and marketing components.


Reyes has more than 20 years of experience in strategic marketing and client experience management. Before joining the PFA team in 2016, Reyes led marketing efforts at a top local real estate firm, a professional trade association and a marketing/advertising company. She also spent many years as a reporter, designer and editor at newspapers throughout the United States. Melissa has a BA in Public Relations and Recreation from Western Kentucky University and studied in the University of Northern Colorado's Sports Marketing Graduate Program.

COLCHESTER, VT, January 19, 2020 - Professional Financial Associates, LLC (PFA) in Colchester is pleased to announce the addition of financial representatives Abraham Trabulsy and Kylie Richards to its team.


Abe Trabulsy is a recent graduate of the Grossman School of Business at the University of Vermont. During his four years at UVM, Abraham was a member of the Student Affairs Advisory Board, acting as a representative of the greater student body. As a managing and founding member of the Green Mountain Investment Fund, he helped to successfully manage a small percentage of the UVM endowment. Since joining the PFA team in mid-2020, Abe has supported both the financial planning and wealth management portion of the business.


When not working, Trabulsy is a volunteer and a summer week staff member for Camp Ta-Kum-Ta, a local camp for pediatric cancer patients, where he was a camper in his youth. The Colchester native is an active volunteer for the Vermont Welcome Wagon Project, where provides marketing and administrative support.


Kylie Richards has worked within the financial services industry since graduating from the University of Vermont in 2018. At UVM, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business, a concentration in Finance, and minors in both Economics and Statistics. Prior to her work at PFA, Billings helped both individual and business clients with their banking, lending, and investing needs. Her favorite thing about the financial services industry is the ability to help clients set and achieve their goals. Additionally, she is currently enrolled at Champlain College pursuing her MBA.


Kylie, also a Vermont native, is also involved in a number of community and professional organizations, such as Integrity BNI, COTS (Committee on Temporary Shelter) the Vermont Welcome Wagon Project.

COLCHESTER, VT – Junior League of Champlain Valley (JLCV) has received a $10,000 grant from the MassMutual Foundation as part of a national Community Service Award (CSA) program. JLCV is one of thirty-two organizations nationally to receive an award. The MassMutual Foundation made the grant as a tribute to the volunteer efforts of Rebecca Monty, a MassMutual agent and a managing partner of Professional Financial Associates in Colchester.



“We are stronger when we come together as a community, and our Community Service Awards program recognizes a group of MassMutual financial professionals who embody this spirit, working with members of their respective neighborhoods, towns and cities, helping nonprofits with which they are involved grow and thrive,” said Dennis Duquette, Head of MassMutual Community Responsibility and President of the MassMutual Foundation. “We are proud of the time and energy Rebecca dedicates to better her community and delighted to support the great work MassMutual financial professionals do with organizations across the country.”


The award was presented at the September JLCV membership meeting.


The JLCV Diaper Bank is Vermont’s first diaper bank and began distributing diapers to area food shelves from its South Burlington headquarters in Fall 2018. The Diaper Bank partners with The Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf and town food shelf programs in Williston, Richmond, Milton and Hinesburg to distribute close to 100,000 diapers annually.


“One in three US families struggle with diaper need,” said Nicole Breslend, President of JLCV. “This amazing grant will cover the cost of operating our diaper bank facility for several years, allowing our volunteers to focus on collecting and distributing diapers to Vermont families. We couldn’t be more thrilled and appreciative.”


Monty has been actively involved with JLCV for five years, currently serving as president-elect. She has dedicated countess hours of time and talent to help the organization grow and flourish.


“I am very pleased that my dedication to Junior League has been recognized by the MassMutual Foundation,” she said. “This grant will provide much-needed funding to continue supporting our communities.”
